Originally appearing as a Gym Leader in the Unova region Elesa has arrived in Pokemon Masters with her electric Zebra. The stuff you've come to expect with these updates at this point basically. Beyond that, there's a new rally, event and EX challenge. That new pair is Elesa and Zebstrika who we've been expecting following a recent datamine of the game. I honestly was looking forward to it the times I avidly played the game since, again, Unova Pokémon hold a special place in my heart as my first Pokémon.Įdit: and I’m not going to downvote someone for being brave enough to post a potentially controversial post.A whole host of new events have arrived in Pokemon Masters alongside a new sync pair. Of course this is also from the perspective of someone who doesn’t have the mental energy to put effort into Pokémon go even though I don’t like it. Playing Shield right now and half my current team are Unova Pokémon, with the others being from Galar. I think that maybe changed how the creators approached the Pokémon, knowing that the Unova Pokémon almost completely existed in a bubble so it may have let them feel like they could experiment.

That aside, one reason I do love those Pokémon is because not only was it my first game, that game doesn’t introduce any previous Pokémon until the post game, so the full journey was done with completely new Pokémon and it was a great experience as a new player. But then the first gen has a pile of goo and a pokeball as Pokemon so it’s not a good argument. Part of it for me is that a lot of the arguments against the Unova (And later Pokemon) I’ve heard since I became a fan is that the creators lost creativity, often one of the most cited ones is the Vanillite line (which is one of my favorites). It’s a tired opinion, as a fan of the main games. I was just trying to acknowledge your right to your opinion. Sorry I didn’t mean to come off rude or anything.

With each new Unova update I'm learning that I'm quite uninterested, despite expecting that the Unova legendaries are going to absolutely revamp the PvE meta. But when I see these Pokémon, their names, concepts, and their evolved forms I just think: those Pokémon are not good and I don't really even want them. I don't even want to say bad design or artistry because I'm sure they are somebody's favorite evolution lines. Munna, Cottonee, Yamask, Trubbish, Solosis, Vanillite, Ferroseed, Klink, Cryoganal, etc. Then as I explored more outside of PoGo, I realized that this was the generation of Pokémon that just hit the fan. But the PoGo release seemed to start out pretty tame with Patrat (upright Rattata), Lillipup (cuter Nidoran), Purrloin (purple Meowth), Blitzle (electric Ponyta), Pidove (yea yea 3 bird line), regional monkeys, and a few more. manager decided Victini should be the first in line was a cruel individual.
Now the Unova Pokémon are being released more and more in waves and events and it's sparking some feelings for me. It also definitely helped that they expanded previous generations' evolution lines to capitalize on that nostalgia.
As with any generation, there were some designs, typing, or Pokédex lore that I didn't really appreciate, but otherwise I fell in love with the Sinnoh mons. So discovering the 4th generation Sinnoh Pokémon through PoGo was a scary, yet unbelievable experience that I haven't been able to have for years. The latest games I played were Ruby & Sapphire, and through the first 3 generations I didn't have any major complaints. Some trainers only consider the first 150 to be "legit" while some just claim they lost interest at a certain generation or game. And as the generations progress there has been a different creativity used to come up with unique and interesting Pokémon. Pokémon has been full of weird monsters since the beginning and even Gen 1 mons from the Kanto region had their oddities (who approved Lickitung's design).
